This song can be used to have fun with numbers and movements.
I wrote this song after a visit back home to Corpus Christi, TX.  My dear friend Karen had invited me to dinner, and when her grandfather’s cuckoo clock rang, she and her family stopped eating and began to dance.  I thought it was so sweet and when I got back to Chicago, I had to write about it.

Lyrics

CHORUS / Let’s do the cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo clock dance / the cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo clock dance /the cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo clock dance / the cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo clock dance / When the cuckoo clock strikes one / the cuckoo dance has just begun / and when the cuckoo clock strikes two / let’s wiggle and waggle and woo / and when the cuckoo clock strikes three / we’re laughing very happily / and when the cuckoo clock strikes four / well let’s dance a little more / CHORUS / When the cuckoo clock strikes five / let’s fly up in the sky / and when the cuckoo clock strikes six / let’s do some can-can kicks / and when the cuckoo clock strikes seven / we’re shakin’ and we’re steppin’ / and when the cuckoo clock strikes eight / let’s sing and celebrate./ CHORUS / I am a cuckoo bird and I always want to dance / I feel the rhythm and I’m in the cuckoo trance / the cuckoo beat it makes me want to tap my feet / I wiggle my feathers and I wet my beak  / When the cuckoo clock strikes nine / let’s all march right in time / and when the cuckoo clock strikes ten / let’s spin and spin and spin / and when the cuckoo clock strikes eleven / we’re jumping into heaven / and when the cuckoo clock strikes twelve / let’s bow and say farewell./ CHORUS
